Dear 12 Oaks Foundation,
When I was 14 years old I was diagnosed with Lymphoma, right before the start of my studio competition season. I was shocked that I had cancer and super upset at knowing I was going to miss the competition season with my dance studio. I had been working hard all year in preparation for the competitions. You see, I have been dancing since I was a little girl and always found dance to be a great mix of reducing stress from school and being around a group of nice dancers.
The financial support from the 12 Oaks Foundation has allowed me to continue taking my techniques classes in preparation for my competitions.
The pictures I picked out to send to you are very special to me because they remind me that with my hard work and your support, I can get back to what I truly love. The first picture is of me dancing my solo at a competition. I won first place in my age bracket, and that is the second picture. I’m the one in the middle with the short hair, of course.
Thank you so much for your help, and I know my mom was super happy about the help with my dance costs too, due to the medical bills. I am able to continue dancing because of you!
